BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8220

Most people get attached to one certain kind of cell phone type and it makes it hard for them to actually change course. This is also one reason why most people who are clamshell lovers cannot get a hold of the BlackBerry. However, flip or clamshell phone unit lovers will unite with the release of the BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8220. Like any other BB, this one offers the same push e-mail and is still up to par with the other BB phones when it comes to sending and receiving e-mails. The main advantage of this BB compared with all the other BB cell phone units is that the screen is protected because of its clamshell. Because of the flip form, the BB 8820 makes calling easier too. Other than that, the BB 8820 also has Wi-Fi. The difference and make that a good difference is that the 8820 has a bigger keyboard unlike the other Pearl phones. Most critics and users would have wanted 3G data support but alas, this unit is only a messaging and multimedia cell phone.

The BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8220 weighs in at 3.6 ounces. It is smaller than the BB 8210 but it is thicker when closed (basically because of its clamshell). It measures at 3.9 x 2.0 x 0.7 inches. The exterior of the phone is in classic yet glossy black and the interior has a matte black finish. In the next few weeks, there will be a dark red option for those who are not fans of the color black. It also has an upgraded camera with a flash and the keypad is flat, smooth and more spacious. The trackball is more dug in which makes it a little harder to use but it is over-all responsive. It just might take a little time to getting used to.
