Who said functionality always needs to be expensive? AT&T offers you the Samsung Magnet. The manufacturers boast this fully functional phone that is light on the budget. With its relatively cheaper cost, it is the only one of its kind to have full QWERTY keys.
The Samsung Magnet supports e-mail and instant messaging. You can do voice, text and image messaging too.
Like other candy bar models of Samsung, the Magnet is 4.29 by 2.32 by 0.47 inches. Somehow, it is a sudden deviation from the brand’s line of slider designs. It has an impressive 240 hours stand-by time and 300 minutes talk-time life. The screen is 2.2 inches wide, which can display about 65,000 colors. It has an average resolution of 220 by 176 pixels. This is not much, but still multimedia capable. It has video playback too.
The pride of the Samsung Magnet is in its full QWERTY keyboard. The buttons have a rectangular design. Reviews say that the keys are a little stiff, but comfortable enough to handle. Besides the ergonomic grip, the shortcut and function keys are highlighted for usability. These are the model’s “One Touch” buttons.
It has many organizer features too. These include a currency converter, alarm clock, calendar, to-do lists, notepad and calculator. It comes with 64 MB built-in memory. It even has a camera. The camera may seem a little disappointing because of its VGA resolution. However, it is still a welcome addition to an affordable QWERTY phone.
The phone can go online through WAP 2.0 connectivity. File sharing is also possible because the Samsung Magnet has Bluetooth 2.0. With its wireless capability, you can work more efficiently with hands-free headsets.
