Rock & Republic is a brand of American jeans founded by Michael Ball, a fashion mogul, in 2002. His friend, Andrea Bernholtz, is the president of the company Before founding the company, Ball cycled avidly, and got his experience in design by making uniforms for his cycling teams. Rock & Republic is famous for "VB Rocks", which is a line of casual wear and jeans that flatter the bottom, designed by Victoria Beckham, the singer.
Even though its high-end jeans are what the company's best known for, Rock & Republic also has clothing lines for women, men and children, including women's shoes, maternity wear, and added most recently, handbags and eyewear.
Rock & Republic merchandise can be found in Nordstrom, Von Maur, Bloomingdale's, Holt Renfrew, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and Bergdorf Goodman, and also small boutiques like Stanley Korshak and Len Druskin. Starting in the autumn of 2008, Lord & Taylor, another upscale department store, will join the ranks of the stores that sell the brand.
The company sponsors Rock Racing, the professional cycling team, which is known for its team car, a Cadillac Escalade, and for constantly changing its team kit.
